Passive house

It requires no active heating system, offers extremely low energy costs, and above all - total comfort in winter and summer.


These are houses with no active heating system! Pleasant warmth, a perfect room climate and a wonderful ambiance are guaranteed. For today’s builders, we recommend taking advantage of these benefits for a newly built and economically run home


The most important passive house criteria are;

1. Perfect wall; roof and floor insulation
2. No heat bridges
3. Air compactness
4. Comfort ventilation

Furthermore:
A maximum annual heating requirement of ≤ 15 kWh / (m² a) - equivalent to about 1.5 liters of oil / m of living space.

The passive house standard of 15 kWh / m² results primarily from the basic economic consideration of making a separate heating system unnecessary as the existing air supply system already transports the necessary heat. The remaining minimum ventilation passive house heat losses can be almost completely offset by free "passive" energy contributions.

The goal is to keep pollutants and impairments as low as possible

Austrotherm EPS, XPS, Dämmstoffe At least 30 cubic meters of fresh air per hour are required for each person during normal operation.
Austrotherm EPS, XPS, Dämmstoffe Comfort ventilation systems meet these requirements which serve to increase comfort and to ensure hygienic air flow. A heat exchanger also saves energy.

If all criteria (wall, roof and floor insulation, thermal bridges, air compactness, excellent comfort ventilation) are satisfied, it may even be possible to do without a separate heating system.

The window lintel:
Austrotherm Architectural elements are used for the best bonding in windows and doors. This results in appropriate thermal insulation and light increase of 15%. Even more attractive window architecture is achieved thanks to a variety of design options.
